Stage 4 – Spring Strip Series 1620 Clutch Kit<br />

This assembly, available with a six puck sprung plate is good for penetrating engagement with higher horsepower applications. This disc complimented by a performance pressure plate provides up to 250% increase in torque capacity. 300-mile break-in recommended with this set-up. <br />
The 1620 Series kit includes a performance pressure plate, a six-puck high torque sprung disc with Ceramic buttons, all applicable bearings, and the appropriate alignment tool.<br /><br />
Please note that all Competition Clutch kits are only made for the 6 speed 231ps RX-8, it is possible to install these on a 5 speed 192ps rx8 however a lightweight flywheel and counterweight will be required. <br />

Stage 3 – Street / Strip Series 2600 Clutch Kit.
Great for heavily modified Forced Induction RX-8’s but keeps a streetable clutch pedal feel
Good for up to 525hp
This segmented Ceramic material with a performance pressure plate will provide the ultimate in street and strip combinations. This assembly is suited for up to 150% increase in torque capacity. Provides quick but smooth engagement and extended life. 300-mile break-in recommended with this set-up.
The 2600 Series kit includes a performance pressure plate, a high torque sprung disc with segmented Ceramic facings, all applicable bearings, and the appropriate alignment tool.

Street /Track Series 2100 Clutch Kit, Rated for handling up to 450hp
A great prices option for street use while still being extremely capable on the track.
This assembly provides up to 80% increase in torque capacity and is properly suited for aggressive street use and moderate track use. The Brass Plus material with its alloy backing matched to a performance pressure plate will provide smooth engagement and extended life. 500 mile break-in highly recommended with this set-up. 300-mile break-in REQUIRED with this set-up. (Some kits may not be supplied with all pieces. Please verify with Competition Clutch before ordering).

When it comes to your powertrain the flywheel can be a limiting factor due to it’s mass. While at slightly less than 17 lbs. the RX-8 has a lighter flywheel than most production vehicles, Black Halo Racing has gone further to develop a much lighter alternative. Our 9 lb. aluminum flywheel removes rotating mass in critical areas allowing more power to be translated to the wheels (which is where you want it, isn’t it!). Our flywheel also has a replaceable friction face allowing you to reuse/repair the flywheel (if necessary) instead of having to buy a replacement should the need arise.
Necessary counterweight is sold separately.

The Flywheel will allow your engine to accelerate through the rev range more freely while the clutch is designed to handle greater demands while still maintaining a relitlvly streetable clutch pedal feel. The Competition Clutch Stage 2 Clutch would be the equivilent to a stage between an Exedy Stage 2 and and exedy stage 2 Clutch while maintaining the pedal feel of a stage 1 kit.
Currently being run with great results on our own turbocharged RX-8.
Replace During a Clutch Change!
This is a 2 piece kit to replace the pilot bearing and grease seal found in the back of the Eccentric shaft during engine or clutch replacement.
This set will fit most engines from the FB (12a) onwards and may fit older vehicles also.
Set includes one “needle” Pilot Bearing one Pilot Bearing Seal.

Competition Clutch Flywheels are made from high quality 4140 forged steel with an integral ring gear to prevent the possibility of ring gear separation that can happen on the Original Mazda Flywheel.
This Flywheel will require a counterweight to be purchased to enable installation of an aftermarket flywheel. These can also be purchased on our online store.
