Cataclean is primarily designed to help lower emissions and is very successful if your having trouble passing your MOT on emissions grounds, while this product cannot fix a broken fan it can breath new life in to a good catalytic converter that is not working at its best.
Used in a rotary engine it can also help keep carbon build up at bay, something we all know can be a killer of compression if your RX is not driven hard.
